Shush is the future of British film making

And boy, don’t we know it

Born in the sweet summer of 2020, Shush Films brought together three of the UK’s most forward thinking, ‘can f*ckin’ do it’ type of film makers. Jack Spring, Giles Alderson and Andrew Pettit soon birthed Three Day Millionaire (Colm Meaney, Jonas Armstrong) all over the floors of Netflix HQ.

A year later, All Town Aren’t We (Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenny) came charging out of the Amazon sheds and, with the addition of Adam Carter to the team, the lean foursome continue to develop, package, finance and produce top tier comedy films and television projects.

As a youngster, Shush co-founder Jack dropped out of University in order to chase the dream of making feature films. Being a young pup from a normal upbringing, his contacts in the film finance world were non-existent, as was his access to high net worth individuals. Jack launched what became the UK’s largest inflatable hot tub rental company in order to prove to investors he could be trusted with their cash. He raised the finance to become the UK’s youngest feature film director, learned a ‘ton of naughty words,’ and kickstarted his career in film and television.

Giles grew up in Yorkshire where he knew, from an early age, it was either football or filmmaking for him. Luckily for football, he chose the latter. Since then he has been fortunate enough to put on plays at The Royal Court, film in dangerous and remote caves, rescue animals, raise large sums for charities, make studio movies via numerous indie feature films and documentaries, and run a successful podcast on filmmaking. He still plays football and is occasionally found tapping in a ‘worldy’ from two yards.

The old man of the team, Andrew grew up in Grimsby before heading to London to work as a lawyer, then banker, before starting his own business with colleagues from Lehman Brothers. Twenty years on, Revcap is a £3 billion business that invests in real estate projects around Europe. Coming back full circle, he has now bought a major stake in his lifelong love, Grimsby Town Football Club, whilst continuing to dabble as wicketkeeper for his local village cricket team in Yorkshire.
